Meet Me at the Asheville Bread Festival – Books, Bread & a Dash of Magic

Cher Lecteurs, Dear Readers,

I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be a vendor this year at the Asheville Bread Festival—a celebration of all things sourdough, stone-ground, seeded, and soulful. And yes, I’m bringing books!

📚 What I’m bringing to the Asheville Bread Festival:

🍞 The Bread of Dreams, Recipes and Portraits of the Mistresses of Psomi

A mythic cookbook inspired by the Mistresses of Psomi. Think duck stuffed with cracked rye, chickpea-risen loaves from Eleusis, and wild chestnut focaccia from the misty ports of Marseille.

Part cookbook, part journey—these recipes whisper the ancient and the rebellious.

📖 Tales of the Mistress, A Novel

Set in the 1500s and rooted in the sanctuary that would become EFTA, this novel follows Epi, a young apprentice trained in the ways of bread and ritual.

From Thrace to Jerusalem, the Mistress lineage carries secrets older than language—and hungrier than time.

For readers who love magical realism, Mediterranean lore, and stories baked in fire.

🍎 The Mistress of Apples and Bécasse

✨ Sneak Peek! ✨

Here’s an early look at the cover for The Mistress of Apples and Bécasse. I’m calling this my test cover—would you pick this off the shelf? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Preorders are now open, and the final cover will be revealed soon!

The Mistresss of Apples and Becasse, Coming July 2025

In modern-day France, ousted chef turned food stylist Miel Nerra uncovers trouble in a tapestry-bound legacy that connects her to a secret society, a mystical bird, and the truth about her past.

I’ll have pre-order cards at my table—and if the stars align, dried levain “seed packets” named for the Mistresses.

Conversations about seed piracy, ancient grain lore, and the return of sacred flavors!

🍅 Local friends:

If you’re nearby, stay tuned! I’ll also have San Marzano, Cherokee Purple, and Yellow Pear tomato seedlings available on a separate date—perfect for those who believe flavor begins at the root.

🍞 Whether you’re in Asheville for the einkorn or the oven spring, come say hello! I’ll be signing books, swapping stories, and sharing what’s rising next in my world.
